Portrait Painting with Winsor & Newton Artists' Oil Colours

Join Olivia Di Gregorio in a 2-part workshop using Winsor & Newton Artists’ Oil Colours, mediums and tools. This project is inspired by traditional atelier practices, to paint a portrait reminiscent of the old masters! 〰️

Experiment with the recommended colours to explore modern alternatives to classic historical pigments. Olivia will explain concepts such as sight sizing and comparative measurement techniques to transfer the outline of your subject onto your canvas, applying fundamental processes to render a portrait with likeness and chromaticity.  This is a wonderful opportunity to study with a highly skilled artist who will help you break down barriers and gain confidence in portrait painting.

Who is this for?

The class is designed for all skill levels, although those with basic painting or drawing experience will benefit most.

What's included?

All painting materials will be provided. You may bring your own tools, such as brushes and painting knives, or purchase recommended materials. 

Olivia Di Gregorio is an internationally exhibited and published artist in Toronto, having graduated from OCAD University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Design in Illustration, and a minor in Drawing & Painting. Since graduating, Di Gregorio was chosen as a finalist in the Traditional Art category for the Beautiful Bizarre Magazine Art Prize in 2021, and has exhibited work in international galleries from San Francisco, Denver, South Korea, and the UK. Her paintings have also been published in Supersonic Art, and BOOOOOOOM’s ‘Tomorrow’s Talent’ Vol. II, and Vol. III.
