Open Positions
Shipping Manager - Full Time
Our company currently ships to customers across Canada.
You would be working with and leading a team of up to 6 members.
Job Description & Experience:
- Pick and pack orders, according to order specifications and ensure accuracy of orders.
- Check all incoming packaging for damage and compare, count and verify information on packing slips.
- Prepare appropriate paperwork for shipping, including packing slips, bills of lading (BOL) or customs forms for Canada and across‐the‐border deliveries.
- Arrange with carriers and compare pricing to ship and /or receive outgoing and incoming shipments.
- Track shipments to ensure they reach their destination on time and update customers or internal teams on their status.
- Retrieve orders in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy. Keep organized records of completed orders.
- Build pallets with orders and position them for tailgate deliveries.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies.
- Make continuous improvement in the workspace and assists in identifying opportunities to improve all processes.
- Work with the Inventory Manager to resolve inventory discrepancies as needed.
- Assist with tracking inventory to ensure that orders are filled in a timely manner and notify buyers, customer service when inventory levels are low.
- Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and in resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized work area, adhere to health & safety policies and quality standard.
- Establish and maintain staff schedules and procedures.
- Be a part of the recruiting and hiring of shipping staff, train workers in duties and policies.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Warehouse experience required.
- High School diploma required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer skills. Able to learn and use in-house software applications.
- Able to work from verbal and written instructions and have good attention to detail.
- Displays leadership skills
Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically able, must have the ability to climb stairs and ladders, lift packages up to 50 lbs.
- Good sense of humour.
