Holbein Watermedia Workshop

This Brand Ambassador Materials Workshop is a hands-on workshop for artists of all levels and experience from beginner to professional.

Along with the instructor Alanna Cartier, this guided workshop is a learning experience where participants have the opportunity to experiment with many different materials.

The Watermedia Workshop will focus on Holbein’s Watercolor, Gouache, Acrylic Gouache, and Watercolor Mediums, as well as Legion’s 100% cotton Stonehenge Aqua White and Black papers, Yupo White paper, and an assortment of General Pencil materials.

Intro to Modern Calligraphy with FW Inks, Strathmore and Princeton Brushes

Discover the art of modern calligraphy in this beginner-friendly workshop using Strathmore postcards, Daler-Rowney FW Acrylic Inks, and Princeton Brushes.

Participants will learn foundational lettering techniques, ink control, brush handling, and simple composition while creating beautifully hand-lettered postcards. This relaxed and creative session is designed for all skill levels and will explore mark-making, line variation, and modern calligraphy styles using vibrant FW Ink on Strathmore postcards.

Winsor Newton Oil Colours with Olivia Di Gregorio

Luckily Winsor & Newton has been at it for long time too! If you’ve wanted to dive into oil painting but don’t know where to start, this demonstration with Olivia Di Gregorio will help take the mystery out of the materials and the painting process.

Costumed Life Drawing

An informal costumed life drawing session, the last Tuesday each month at Gwartzman's!

Join fellow creatives, practice techniques, experiment and relax. What to expect Doors will open at 6:30pm. Each month will feature different costumes and models. We will start with short pose/quick gesture, and progressively move into longer poses at approximately 15-20 minutes in length. There will be a short break half way through.

Subway Drawing

🚇 Join us for a 2 part workshop and learn how to sketch people on the TTC!

Part 1 will be held at Gwartzman’s Art Supplies where our instructor will demonstrate how to break down and quickly sketch a face from multiple angles. You’ll also learn how to become invisible so you can sketch freely without attracting unwanted attention. Attendees will get to practice sketching from a live model inside the store.
