Carve & Print: Custom Linocut Sketchbooks with Alan Li

Customize your own kraft cover sketchbook with a linocut print of your own creation!
In this workshop, you’ll be creating a custom Linocut image to print onto a sketchbook cover and fine art paper. Our instructor will guide attendees step-by-step through each stage of the process. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a unique sketchbook, fine art prints and the knowledge of how to set up a printmaking space at home. Beginners welcome.
Costumed Life Drawing

An informal costumed life drawing session, the last Tuesday each month at Gwartzman's!
Join fellow creatives, practice techniques, experiment and relax. What to expect Doors will open at 6:30pm. Each month will feature different costumes and models. We will start with short pose/quick gesture, and progressively move into longer poses at approximately 15-20 minutes in length. There will be a short break half way through.
Sunset Plein Air Picnic

Join us for a relaxing plein air picnic at Daniels U of T.
Whether you are a hobbyist, or professional, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to build a scene in changing light, how to handle your materials for on-the-go painting, and receive live feedback while enjoying the summer breeze together. Challenge yourself to a limited colour palette, while learning how to execute an outdoor scene, from underpainting to texture-making.

He'll take us through his process painting miniature masterpieces in an altoid tin and sharing insight into his popular book Mini Plein Air Painting. Robinson's book (2024), covers brush techniques, colour mixing, composition and painting tutorials.
