🌀It’s time to rejuvenate and add energy to your artwork!
Explore how to paint and draw in an alternative way with altered brushes, unconventional tools, and drawing methods. Learn about Japanese paper and how it can add depth to your work. The experiments on paper might be considered unique pieces as is or they are excellent for collage. Participants will learn how to make some of these tools in order to continue at home. All materials are included.
This workshop is suitable for all levels. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on.

About your instructor
Loree Ovens is a Toronto-based artist working in printmaking, painting, and textiles. She holds a BFA in Printmaking from OCADU and specializes in intaglio techniques such as etching, aquatint, drypoint, and collagraph. Inspired by line, pattern, architecture, and aged textiles, her work often incorporates Japanese Washi. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in public and private collections in Canada and abroad. She is represented by Open Studio, Propeller Art Gallery, Guildworks, and Craft Ontario.
